(Belga) WeWatt, the company of ex-minister Patricia Ceysens, presented its new product WeBike to its first customer in Sint-Lambrechts-Woluwe on Tuesday. This is an "office bike" where you sit at a table and work. The idea is that by cycling you maintain your fitness and produce enough energy to surf the Internet wirelessly or to charge your smartphone. This was learned at a press event.

Research shows that every European should build 30 minutes of moderate-intensity exercise into their daily routine. "Cycling at work improves blood flow, making the brain up to 30 percent more productive. You can also literally build energy. We've symbolized it to 30 watts because that's enough to make this table 'smart,' for example, installing an internet connection. There are unbridled possibilities," said the former Flemish minister for enterprise. For the WeBike in Flanders, waste cedar was used as the wood type and the seat is made of waste leather. The first table with three office bikes is now in the ecological shopping center Cameleon in Sint-Lambrechts-Woluwe. The next one is destined for the international conference center in Ghent. (JDH)
